Women workers demonstrated with a black emblem in 30 places in Tiruppur

Anukatham union workers organisation demonstrated with various demands on May 22, 2020.  In Tiruppur, 30 places such as Pandian Nagar, Pichampalayam Pudhur, Sirupooluvapatty, Murugampalayam, etc. demonstrated with black emblem and demand pamphlets. This has many demands such as hosiery manufacturing based home based workers should be given relief fund and working hours should not be increased from 08 hours to 12 hours.

All home - based workers, who have lost their income due to a lockdown, should be given the relief fund Rs. 7500/- for March, April and May months during the lockdown period. Stop police attack on migrant workers. Rail and bus facilities should be arranged, without any fare, to send them back to their natives. As loaners threaten to pay more interest, poor workers’ families have been getting into difficulties. Action should be taken immediately on loaners to stop further harassments. These were the demands were sent as petition to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Labour Welfare Department and District Collector office.
